What it is like to live with

This is the least interesting thing we sell, and probably the one you will use most. It lives clipped to the back seat, it costs less than a tank of fuel, and it stops the specific problem of a dog wandering between the front seats while you are trying to join a dual carriageway.

Most dogs do not appear to notice it at all after the first journey. That is rather the point.

Who it is for

For anyone who drives with a dog and would rather they stayed in one part of the car. It suits owners who already have a bed or a hammock on the back seat and just need the dog to stay on it, and owners of larger dogs who will not fit in a car seat.

An honest note about safety

This is a travel tether, not a certified crash restraint. It limits where your dog can move inside the car. It has not been crash tested, and we make no claim about what happens in a collision. Always attach it to a properly fitted harness, never to a collar — a tether attached to a collar can injure a dog under sudden braking.

Care instructions

• Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash.
• Air dry fully before storing it in the car.
• Check the clip and stitching every few weeks and replace the tether if either shows wear.
• Keep it out of direct sunlight for long periods, which weakens webbing over time.

Frequently asked questions

Will the colour look exactly like the photograph?
There may be a slight difference. Screens and lighting vary, and webbing batches are not perfectly identical. It is black, but the exact shade and sheen can differ a little.

Can I clip it to my dog’s collar?
Please do not. Use a harness. A tether on a collar puts all the force on your dog’s neck.

Will it fit my car?
If your car has seatbelt buckles or headrests, yes. Both fixing methods are included.

How long is it?
It adjusts, so you can set it short enough to keep your dog in one seat or long enough for them to lie down.

Can I use it with one of your car seats?
Yes. The car seat has its own internal tether, so you would not normally need both — but this one is handy as a spare or for a second car.
